Frequently asked questions
Starting therapy can evoke questions about the practitioner, modalities, scheduling, fees and other aspects of the relationship. Following are some things people commonly ask about working together.
I offer trauma-informed therapy, somatic therapy, IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy, and medicine integration support. We work together to heal mind and body, and help you feel more whole.
Every person is different, each of us with a unique lived history and an internal system shaped by those experiences. Some clients find the support they were seeking in several sessions while others may be interested in deeper healing, wanting to spend the time to create inner space, finding meaningful and lasting changes to the impacts of life’s difficulties. We’ll set goals together and go at the pace that works for you.
GFE’s outline the expected cost of therapy. Clients have the right to receive one.
The consultation is an opportunity for you to have a brief conversation to get a sense as to whether working together feels like a good fit. You're welcome to ask any questions you may have about me or how I work. If you aren't sure, we can explore working together for a session or two and see how things feel for you."
Sessions are 50 minutes long.
Sessions are currently held remotely via telehealth through a HIPAA-compliant Electronic Health Records (EHR) platform.
Unfortunately, I do not accept insurance at this time and am unable to offer a superbill. I do offer a few sliding scale spaces and plan to be offering insurance beginning summer of 2026.
For individual sessions cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the session, there is no charge, otherwise the full fee may be charged.
InnerCura utilizes an Electronic Health Records (EHR) platform, Simple Practice. Payments are processed automatically through this platform after each session through the credit card on file.
This is a common question and is very unique to each individual. How much healing work you have already done and what your goals are for yourself may offer some clarity. For those seeking to resolve a particular issue, fewer sessions may be needed while others who are wanting to work through childhood trauma and other deeper issues may meet for a longer period of time.
In order to maintain an emotionally safe relationship for each client, unless I am working with a couple, I only work with one member of a family.
For many of us, we think of trauma as abuse, physical neglect or violence – Big T trauma. We may have experienced things that didn’t register as trauma like bullying, feeling our needs didn’t matter, feeling unloved, unseen or unheard, experiencing medical challenges, birth related complications (we may or may not be aware of) or other issues. The body holds these experiences and they can affect our lives, often in ways we may be completely unaware of.
That’s great! Wherever you are is okay and we move forward at your system’s pace. Check out the Services page for more information on IFS.
